Limited spaces available for bootcamp on how to raise capital; workshops begin Oct. 12
Operated by StartUpNV, a statewide incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startup companies, AngelNV has opened registration for its immensely popular free entrepreneurial fundraising bootcamp that starts Oct. 12.
Last year, more than 250 founders participated in the program that teaches entrepreneurs how to raise venture capital. AngelNV culminated with 52 investors awarding $220,000 to one finalist company and $55,000 investments to two runners up at a Shark Tank-style event held at Las Vegas City Hall this past spring.
Business owners interested in the bootcamp must sign up online by Sept. 30 at: angelnv.com/apply/.
AngelNV teaches startups the fundamentals of attracting venture capital, including perfecting their pitch, creating an effective “get-to-market” strategy, conducting market research, developing a deck to attract investors, and understanding the venture capital process.
The free AngelNV bootcamp runs October through January and will be held at 5:30 p.m. every other Tuesday evening at the International Innovation Center @Vegas in downtown Las Vegas with the option to participate in-person in Las Vegas or virtually from anywhere in Nevada. An in-person location in Reno may also be added to meet demand as appropriate.
After completing the boot camp, entrepreneurs can apply for angel funding (a one-time $49 application fee is required). Accredited angels who have invested in the AngelNV Conference Fund will again award at least one AngelNV startup with a $200,000 investment on April 30, 2022.
AngelNV is a program of StartUpNV that provides expert mentorship to startups and access to a network of capital partners. Since it began operation in 2017, $70 million has been raised and invested in 28 companies participating in StartUpNV programs, including AngelNV. In fact, $46.2 million was invested in 16 companies in the last 18 months – despite a global pandemic.
StartUpNV launched AngelNV to foster an angel investment network for Nevada-based startups and attract to the state scalable startup businesses and entrepreneurs with big ideas to build a more diversified and resilient economy. AngelNV is building a bridge between entrepreneurs and angel investors by teaching startups how to raise venture capital and advising potential investors on wise investments.
