Celeste grew up in construction with her dad being a developer in Colorado. She spent years working on the job with him. She learned the ins and outs of residential homebuilding and even helped him hang trusses! She became a business owner in 2020 and launched her turf company, TurfEnvy, and her construction company, Everything Turf Pros, in Las Vegas in early 2021.
Turf Envy allows Celeste to design artificial turf with her customers, and create their visions towards the perfect backyard or landscape they desire. She has several years in the industry and lends that experience and being in the field to design and manufacture what she considers “Vegas-style turf.” “It is important that we not only create artificial turf that is pet and human-friendly, but also what the homeowners of the valley are looking for. We are a desertscape with new residents coming in from places where lush grass grows. We consider this at Turf Envy when we design the turf we sell.”Everything Turf Pros offers full landscape services and specializes in artificial turf installation. They are certified smart water contractors with SNWA and work with homeowners on landscape renovations. They serve the greater Las Vegas Valley and all of Clark County. Their latest conversion was for Jose Canseco who converted roughly 8000 square feet of grass to artificial turf.
Celeste calls Las Vegas her home now. She relocated here in mid-2018 after her sister moved here, to be closer to family. Although she was born and raised in California, she has developed a passionate connection to the local Las Vegas communities, assisting as either a member or on the board of several local charity foundations, and enjoys all the things the city has to offer while living on the outskirts away from it all. “I feel as though the local scene is fairly under-appreciated. The amazing diversity of locally owned businesses here in the Valley, accompanied with the loyal customer support from the communities is what makes Vegas strong and unique. The food is tremendous, and while the strip is fun on occasions, I truly prefer to support the local mom-and-pop shops around the valley. I am a mom-and-pop shop myself.”
Being a woman-owned business in the construction industry is difficult at times. The struggle of being taken seriously is what is most challenging for Celeste. “Landscaping and trades are primarily a man’s world. I do see many innovative women breaking the mold, and making great strides towards ownership of trade companies and it gives me hope for the longevity of my business. My dream is to provide a fun place to work and offer competitive wages so my team has a good quality of life.” Everything Turf Pros is a Nevada C-10 license holder, Turf Envy has a presence in California, Arizona, and Utah.
Celeste is an active member of NAWIC, the Nevada Contractor’s Association, a personal supporter of ASPCA, and the Special Olympics, and loves to support other women in their endeavors.
