Laptops, underwritten by Icy Hot® and The Howard Hughes Corporation®, spontaneously promised by Shaquille O’Neal at Oct. 23 dedication of The Shaq Courts at Doolittle
The distribution of Dell laptops Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. to 100 youth who participated in the official reveal and dedication of two newly renovated basketball courts at the Doolittle Complex in West Las Vegas – The Shaq Courts at Doolittle, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd – on Oct. 23. The laptops were spontaneously promised by Shaquille O’Neal at the basketball court dedication based on a successful free throw made by 13-year-old Alex Smith, one of the 100 youth who attended the event. (The courts were renovated via a donation from The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation and Icy Hot.)
Shaq’s laptop gesture was made on the spot that night with support from partners, Icy Hot® and The Howard Hughes Corporation®, which agreed to split the cost of the laptops. The donations were facilitated by the Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, a vehicle for corporate and philanthropic partners to support innovative programs that improve quality of life for all Las Vegas residents with a special focus on vulnerable populations.
